︎Makings of a Mountain (Ongoing)

Makings of a Mountain works now towards re-contextualization of our notions of a stable and sustaining environment to reflect climate change and the endless catastrophes that will result if nothing is done. The rocks will still be here but the ephemeral layers of life forms will not. Through rock fractures and stacked layers of earth, native geology conveys the inevitable passage of time. The photographs, posing as fossils themselves, are frozen their own moment. So many have written about this puzzling and persistent separation of humankind from the natural world. In the words of Frederick Sommer, “Some speak of a return to nature, I wonder where they could have been?”
